South Italy Ca 4th Century BC

A bulbous vase with twin handles on shoulder and with a reinforced thick rim and disc foot. A painted sepulchral scene is depicting a female goddess standing wearing in a draped garment and holding a thyrsos. The reverse size depicts a satyr but is a bit distorted by the ancient repair.

ConditiSize: 8 inches high.  on: Ancient circular plug repair with iron pins that have calcified encrustations. Surface with some wear, losses, abrasions
Provenance: Ex HW acq 1990s, by descent to DB, New Paltz N.Y.
