West coast, Mexico, Ca. 100 BC. to 200 AD

Fantastically rendered creature has a spout atop head, standing and leaning forward, wearing incised loin-cloth and with curved deformations denoting the transformations on his back. The raised nodes on shoulders denote clan tattoos; hands loose at sides, and are wearing double horn necklace of a shaman. Size: 12-1/2 inches (32cm) H.
Mineral deposits on the surface. Provenance: The Lands Beyond Gallery; private collection before that.
