Circa 500 to 700 AD.

Provenance: Private Nevada collection, ex. Dr. David Harner collection, Arkansas, 1950s-60s. Collection # PM34. Published and exhibited: Ceremonial Objects of Ancient Mexico, Memphis Pink Palace Museum, 1984, #58. A large buff-brown pottery conch shell decorated with an openwork design consisting of three openwork roundels surrounded with an openwork geometric pattern. Some remaining ocher and white surface pigment. A nice example.
