11862. Greek Pottery Goddess Thymaterion
Magna Gracia or Sicily, Circa 3rd to 2nd century BC A beautiful terracotta ritual incense burner in the form of a youthful female. She wears a high crown headdress and is draped in a himation. Atop her head is a bowl depression atop showing signs of carbon charges from ritual usage. Wear to painted pigment on surface of which some remains. Size 15 inches (38 cm) H.
