North Africa Terra Sigillata, Circa 2nd Century AD

A molded terra sigillata head flask of a youth with full lips, almond-shaped eyes and arching brows, his wavy hair centrally parted he has a fine voluminous nose. Under the chin two necklaces. Size 8-1/4 inches (21cm) H. Handle gone else intact and with archaeological patina. Very fine portrait. Provenance: Ex Bavarian collection R.B., acquired in the 1960s or 1970s.
