West Mexico, Protoclassic, ca. 100 B.C. - A.D. 250

A solid pottery standing female figure depicted with circular ear spools, exposed breasts, and centrally parted hairdoo. Scattered areas of mineral deposits on the surface, couple toes missing else intact. Size: 4-5/8 inches H. + custom mount. Compare similar example in 'Little People of the Earth, Ceramic Figures from Ancient America' Denver Art Museum, 1991 exhibition. Provenance: Ex NY City doctor S Tuttman collection.
