13555. Egyptian Faience Ushabti for Her-mere

Third Intermediate Period, C. 900 BC.

Her-mere, mistress of the house and songstress of Amun. Mummiform moulded worker figure wearing tripartite wig with fillet added in black, eyes and brows and pair hoes and rear seed-bag also in added in black ink. Column text down front in black inscribed: wsir nbt-pr Smayt n Imn Hr-mrt ‘the Osiris, lady of the house, chantress of Amun, Her-meret.
Size 4-3/8 inches (11cm) H. Provenance Julian Bird Collection, London, acquired between 1970 – 2012.
