Gerasa Jordan, Circa 1st to 4th century AD Hollow molded pottery figure of a standing woman wearing a draped garment with hooded vale, playing a drum with both hands. Painted in light blue-green and red-brown. Areas of mineral deposits on surface. Perforated on back of head and on base rim. Size: 5-1/2 inches H. x 2-3/8 inches W. + plinth base. A nice rare example. Provenance: Ex. Ostow collection, NYC.
