13958. Greek Fragmentary Limestone Relief with Serpent

Circa Early 4th Century B.C.

Sculpted in high relief with architectural details, probably of a cornice or shrine roof element with antifix in the form of a palmette at corner and surmounted by a serpent with mouth open and deep set eyes. Remarkable remains of original pink and black pigment to surface! Size: 10-1/2 inches h. x 9 inches W.; 14 inches H. on custom mount.
