West Mexico, Protoclassic, ca. 100 B.C. - A.D. 250

A fine style pottery kneeling topless female votive figure with tattooed breasts, wearing a knee length skirt, and holding her right hand to her head, left arm to her abdomen, perhaps an indication of her fertility. Depicted with fine thin nose, overall cream and brown slip pigment and scattered mineral deposits and root marks on the surface. Nice condition, Intact, chip on ear spool.
Size: 15 inches H.
