14399. Egyptian Faience Bead Necklace

Date/period: Late Period, Ca. 715 to 30 BC

Turquoise blue glaze faience tube beads in an openwork angular composition, with tan spacer beads in between and small barrel shape bead as a pendant. The turquoise blue beads are symbolic for water and rebirth. Restrung in modern times.
Size: 18 inches length in a row (individual tube beads approx. 1 in L ea.)
Condition: Excellent
Provenance/source: Acquired by decedents Mark and Lottie S.; Hartsdale, NY, 1950s-1960s, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY!
