14451. Egyptian Bronze Standing Osiris

XXVIth Dynasty, Ca. 646 to 525 BC.

A cast bronze standing bearded mummiform figure of the god Osiris. He wears the atef crown with uraeus and twin plumes and holds a crook and flail in clenched fists, with incised details. Size: 6¼ in. (16 cm.) H. Provenance: John Seymour Lucas R.A. England, acquired in the 1900s. Old pen & ink label on base says it is from Karnak. Acquired at Christie’s London, King St., Apr 20, 2005 Sale 7161 lot 387.
