Mexico, Ca. 600 to 800 AD

Carved greenish black speckled stone figure holding his arms at his waist. Wearing a double tiered headdress. Well carved broad relief facial features with triangular nose and ear flares. Scattered areas of surface encrustation.
A beautiful example. Condition: Good, as found; intact and abrasions to nose, nick to brow ridge and knee.
Size 8-3/4 inches Height + custom mount. Ex Private IL Coll. L.M., acq 1980s.
