14562. Egyptian Granite Carved Male Bust
Middle Kingdom, Circa 2040-1640 B.C.
Rendered in a rare hard stone, depicted in a noble erect posture, implements across chest; he wears a voluminous bag wig, and his torso with well defined head, chest and shoulders. Very fine style. Size: (13.3 cm) 5-1/4 inches. H + custom marble fitted mount (mount has a repair on the corner). Provenance: Ex Midwest Private Collection; Ex Theodore Bachman Collection, New York, acquired in the early 20th Century.
