Mesopotamia, Early Dynastic Period Ca. 2600–2500 B.C.

A fine carved marble head with bald pate, naturalistic ears, incised brows and deep set eye orbits for inlays. Size: 2 inches (4.7 cm) H. + custom mount. Missing lower part but mouth is still there. Provenance: Ex Brooklyn NY Coll, Acq from Dave Libert, Time Machine buy or bid sales; Flushing NY, early 2000s. Choice and rare item.
