Biblical, Iron Age I, ca 1200 BC

A simple clay dish with pinched back side walls to create the lamps spout. This is the ubiquitous lighting source for most of ancient world at this time.

Size 4-3/4 inches W. x 2-1/4 inches H. + tripid presentation base. Condition Intact and good surface patina.

This historic type of lamp was used during the first temple period which is the time of King David.
