West Coast, Mexico, Ca. 100 BC. to 200 AD.

An impressive and large deeply ribbed or gradooned vessel with flat rim, standing on three lovely parrot bird legs, each with wings folded and tail feathers at the back; painted overall in deep reddish brown. Excellent mineral staining. Massive in person. Size: 9-1/4 inches H., 14-1/2 inches W. Repaired from several original pieces with restoration and resurfacing over the body and lip. Provenance: From the collection of Anne and Kirk Douglas, Los Angeles. Acquired 1953-1970s. To family by descent
