Iron Age I, ca 1200 BC
Shallow open lamp in the form of a round dish with broadlip; approximately half of the circumference pinched in to form a nozzle. This is the ubiquitous lighting source for most of ancient world at this time. Size 5-5/8 inches W. x 2-1/4 inches H. Condition Intact and good surface patina.This historic type of lamp was used during the first temple period which is the time of King David. Ex Rhode Island Collection 1990s.
