15026. Vera Cruz Pottery Figural Incensario
Valley of Mexico, Ca. 300 to 600 AD. Depicted here is a section of an urn with a human bust protruding from front with broad base, side flanges and an opening atop for which may have been the place for a deceased bones or the burning of incense. The figure is molded with a pleasing face, heavily laden eyes and he wears a double strand of heavy beaded neck cords and large nose ornament. Condition: One side flange restored and bottom gone. Size: 6-1/4 inches H x 12 inches Wide. An excellent and rare fragment. Ex Texas collection.
