Northwest coast, good age

A two part composition, the top, a vertebrae, made into wide arms. Good patina and an old fossilized specimen. Probably representing a shaman. The traditional Native carver uses the natural shape of the bone in his sculpture like his ancestors did before him. Size 6-1/4 inches H. Intact. Ex S & V Friedman NYC coll, acq 1960s
