15101. Fine Tlatilco Skirted Female Figure

D-1 type, Mexico, Ca. 1150 to 550 B.C.

A solid pottery standing female figure holding her short arms in an outward position, long segmented hairlock down her left shoulder, beautifully rendered facial features, wearing large ear spools and a knee length skirt. Painted red highlights. Ancient chip on nose, otherwise intact, excellent condition.

Size: 4-1/4”H. x 1-7/8”W. + custom Lucite block base.
Provenance: Ex. Dr. James Tait Goodrich, Grandview-on-Hudson, NY. A nice example.
