15135. Phoenician or Egyptian Alabaster Twin Handled Jar with Ibexes
2nd to 1st Millennium BC. A deep well made thin walled banded alabaster amphora, once with twin arched handles with twin ibexes under each handle. Pierced for suspension and holes in animal heads at ear level suggests separately made and inserted horns to complete an elaborate composition.
Condition: damages and losses to rim and handle.
6-1/4 inches high.
