15416. Egyptian Large Inscribed Heart Scarab
Late period, ca. 700 to 30 BC. Large carved deep brown hard stone heart scarab, with incised details, inscribed with several lines of very worn hieroglyphs and a later ancient double line inscription on the lower portion. Size: 2-1/2L. x 1-3/4W. Some ancient surface losses on the top right wing, scattered minor ancient lower edge flakes, otherwise intact. Provenance: Private Brooklyn collection. Ex. William D. Ashby, California, active 1960s - 1980s.
