Period: Ca. 450 B.C.

A pottery red-figure vessel fragment, decorated with a very finely painted figure of the god Zeus, wearing a floor length drapery garment and long shoulder togo. Head depicted in profile having a long curly full beard and hair pulled into a rear diadem.
Size: 5 inches L. x 4 inches W. + custom metal base. An intact fragment.
Provenance: Private NJ. collection. Acquired from Gorny Mosch Auction #222 6/25/2014 for 1836 Lot #454, formerly from a Private Hungarian Collection, 2002.
