Pre Classic Peirod, ca. 800 to 200 B.C.

A rare large solid pottery standing nude female of formal geometric form. She has a large square head with oval eyes, rectangular torso and protruding curved hips. Some remnants of white and red pigment to surface. Scattered areas of strong mineral deposits on the surface. Nice example. Size 7-1/2 inches H. + custom mount. Provenance: Ken and Barbara Bower, Lands Beyond NY.
