15721. Fine Colima Pottery Parrot Vessel

West Coast, Mexico, Ca. 100 BC. to 200 AD.

A choice vessel of deeply ribbed gourd like form with flat rim and raised up on three lovely tripod legs in the form of parrots, each with wings folded and tail feathers at the back; painted overall in deep reddish brown. Excellent mineral staining. Fine and impressive in person.

Size 13 inches Diameter x 8-1/2 inches H.
