4827. Choice Mayan Polychrome 'Basket Weave' Cylinder Vessel, Late Classic, Ca. 550 to 900 AD. A deep ritual vessel decorated on exterior in an alternating geometric diagonal pattern. Under the rim is a band of stylized monkey tails. 7-1/2"H. x 4-1/2”D. Excellent condition to original painted surface with normal surface age signs and stress fissures. Choice.  5206. Mayan Fluted and Incised Cylinder, Ca. 600 to 900 AD. Deep thick ritual cylindrical vessel in brown painted pigment and with a well defined ‘PSS’ primary standard sequence incised under the rim which is highlighted in reddish pigment. 8-1/4 inches H. x 6-1/4 in Diam at rim. Pre Columbian Mayan Pottery Polychrome Large Raised footed Ritual Plate, Late Classic Period, Ca. 600 to 900 AD A large deep circular pottery platter on four rattle legs; profusely decorated in lavish polychrome, figures in procession around rim; in tondo is a central dancing high status figure. Anthropomorphic animal molded along side. 13 in Diam x 5-1/2 in H. Multiple repairs with minor restoration over the breaks. Museum Quality. Ex Private Florida Collection. $1600

A deep ritual vessel decorated on exterior in an alternating molded and painted panels decorated with large Chief’s heads in every other panel. Under the rim is a band of stylized birds heads. The foot is raised and crenelated and pierced. 6"H. Very good condition to original painted surface with normal surface age signs and one 3” fissure repaired. Choice. Ex Florida Collection. $1650

4872. Mayan Polychrome Cylinder Vessel, Classic Period, Ca. 400 AD. A deep wide polychrome cylindrical vase with a most beautiful decoration in three registers: seated figures and a band of hieroglyphic text running below the rim. There is a central band which may represent a Mayan sky band and below are cartouche spaced out depicting a fantastic demonic head and hieroglyph symbols. 6 in D. x 6 in H. Museum Quality.
