7030. Tiwanaku Polychrome Woven Shallow Basket. Ca. 300 AD. A shallow Pre-columbian basket by one of the oldest cultures in South America. The Tiwanaku culture was based near Lake Titicaca and was primarily of farming culture. 9-3/8 in L. Material: Plant Fibers. Provenance: 17 BBD to HCHS 11/7/38 on old card tag. $1150

7014. Chancay Painted Textile Panel, Ca. 1000 to 1425 A.D. A rectangular woven brown, blue, tan and white painted panel; the decoration composed of alternating thin and wide vertical registers with stylized birds and crouching felines. The felines are wearing large crescent form crowns. Several small areas of professionally repaired & mounted on a cotton cloth backing. Can be easily mounted on a strectcher. Size: 18-1/2”H. x 23”W. The plain-weave cotton panel attached to a slit tapestry section in lavish red, gold, yellow and brown colored wool depicting a morphed bird-fish creature as well as a fringe border. 7000. Inca Carved and Painted Wood Kero, Colonial Era, Ca. 16th Century AD. A large & deep conical wood ritual vessel with a lizard peering over the side as well as snakes in relief along exterior body. The surface is also adorned with painted panels of alternating geometric motifs, vingettes of a hunter and a central scene whcih is a Lord paying tribute to a Chief. 10-3/4n. (26.8cm.) high. 6135. Pair of Huari Dog Vessels (2), Central Coast, Ca. 750 AD. A very rare matched pair of classic Huari naked peruvian dogs with attached kero shaped vessel on back. Dogs are depicted with morsel of food at mouth with lovely relief wrinkles and warts on face both seated on a rectangular base attached to a kero shaped vessel on back with painted bands and Huari dragon motif in chocolate and red over a cream background. 6119. Moche Diseased Portrait Head Vessel, Peru, Moche IV, Ca. 450 to 550 AD. Nice facial vessel with good molded details and painted in red and tan slip with full molded details. The disfigurement is in the cut nose with the bone exposed; also there is some scarification on both cheeks. This type of depiction does exist in Moche ceramic art and it is believed to be a representation of tropical diseases such as leishmaniasis or verruga. 4-3/4 in H. (12.7 cm). Intact. Good deposits.  6163. Chimu Inca Redware Dreamer Stirup Vessel, Cas. 1450 AD. Handsome vessel of an Andean man seated with head tilted to one side. He wears turban and rests with eyes shut and pleasing facial expression. Seated upon the stirrup handle is a small monkey, typical of the Inca transitional style. 7 in (17.8 cm) H.
