The eyes are inset, painted cream with brown irises and yellow pupils, and outlined with black dots. Sight holes are pierced above. The red lips are parted to show small inset wooden teeth. Probably made for a regional festival dance, as a negrito, caporal or similar mestizo character.  There are wear and chips to the paint at the moustache tips, the nose and the edges.
