A very rare cut cuneiform written to convey principles of geometry or a certain expression of a labyrinth. Tablet impressed with grid pattern in proportion lines and graphic layout on back.

Accompanying the object is a typed and signed interpretation of the text as a rare theory on mathematics by Professor  W. G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, UK, 1970-1993.

He states” This is a rare perhaps unique tablet. It is clearly not the plan of a building, nor any plan of field. Most likely it is a mathematical, an elaborate piece of geometry.  There is no text explaining it: as often in ancient Mesopotamia, the teacher explained things orally. A modern scholar well trained in cuneiform and Babylonian mathematics may eventually be able to explain what this sets out to prove. “

Size: 4-1/2  inches W x 3-1/2 inches L

Fractures, repaired, losses and some damages.  Unfired and fragile.
