Most remarkable is the bold, dark painted decoration covering the hips and tapering legs, executed in dynamic, radiating geometric chevrons and linear stripes that vividly signify body paint, ritual tattooing, or ornate textile breeches. The warm reddish-buff clay ground exhibits delicate surface patination and scattered rootlet\/mineral encrustations acquired from centuries of burial in a subterranean shaft tomb.  \u003cbr\u003eDimensions: Height: 7 1\/2 in.
