Howard Nowes at Tuscon AZ Antiques Roadshow

This image features Howard Nowes, Director of Art For Eternity, discussing a ceramic pig with fellow appraiser Lark Mason Jr.  during a taping of Antiques Roadshow in Tucson, Arizona.  Lark thought it was an ancient Chinese Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) pig while I argued the item may have been a rare Anna Pottery stoneware pig, which are highly collectible and have been known to sell for thousands of dollars at auction.

PBS's Antiques Roadshow now finished filming its 31st season, which will air on PBS in 2027 (episodes typically premiere between January and May). For the 2026 filming tour, the show pared down to just three cities, and Tucson was chosen as the season opener.

The Tucson taping already happened on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Old Tucson Studios (201 S Kinney Rd) — the historic Western movie set west of the city. It was Roadshow's third visit to Tucson and the first in about ten years. The crew filmed three one-hour episodes in a single day — of roughly 3,000 items brought in, about 150 appraisals were recorded for broadcast or web. Those Tucson-shot episodes are expected to air on PBS sometime between January and May 2027 as part of Season 31.
