See Howard Nowes Apprasial on 2025 Antiques Roadshow
Howard Nowes inaugural appearance on Antiques Roadshow took place in season 29 at Living History Farms, Hour 3; which originally aired on 03/17/25.
Living History Farms is a 500-acre open-air museum located in Urbandale, Iowa, just outside of Des Moines. It showcases the agricultural history of Iowa over the past 300 years through interactive exhibits and demonstrations. It was an ideal open air venue to host Antiques Roadshow.
The show combines elements of history, entertainment, and suspense, making each episode engaging and unpredictable. It's not just about the monetary value of items; it's also a journey through history and culture.
I was very impressed with the professionalism and integrity of the producers. They warmly welcomed new appraisers into the roadshow family. I pitched several guests who brought ancient and ethnographic objects but the producers knew who would be the right fit to to bring their stories to the viewing public.
I learned that the show focuses on the emotional connections people have with their possessions, rather than just their monetary value. This emphasis on personal history and sentiment resonates deeply with the production staff and they know who will make a good guest.
And lets of course not forget that Antiques Roadshow educates viewers about antiques, art, and historical artifacts, making these subjects more accessible and interesting to a broader audience.
