Nigeria, 19th Century AD.

Cast Yoruba-Ijebu bronze bell, typically used in ritual or ceremonial contexts in West Africa, specifically among the Yoruba people of Nigeria relating to Egungun, Ifa divination or Shango. The bell is conical in shape with an elaborate anthropomorphic head at the top, including stylized facial features and a loop for suspension. The lower surface is adorned with raised geometric motifs and dotted patterns, often signifying status, spiritual power, or lineage.
Overall good condition, some verdigris. 
Size 6 inches H. + custom mount.
