25th Dynasty Circa 626 to 525 BC

A fragmented papyrus page with procession of figural Deities and multiple line hieroglyphic inscription in black ink translates:

At top: “O give bread, beer, oxen … wine …"

Lower text, starting at right:
“(1) O Thoth, who vindicated … (2) against his enemies! Vindicate … (3) your [enemies] in the presence of the [great] tribunal … (4) on that night of the evening meal … (5) As for the great tribunal … (6) [it is Atu]m … (7) [on that night of] erecting the djed-pillar in Bus[iris] ... (8) As for the [great] tribunal ... (9) it is [Osiris], it is Isis, ... (10) O Thoth who vindicated …! (11) Vindicate …"

Size: 7-5/8 inches H x 9-1/2 inches W. Presentation mounted in a blue mat and wood and glass frame which measures 12 inches H x 13-1/4 inches W.

Condition: The papyrus is fragmented with tears and losses which can be seen in the lot images. Despite the wear, overall the work presents well.

Written on the back of the frame says “Djehuty-nakht” on the back. I do see the divine name “Djehuty” (Thoth) a couple times.
