Egyptian Steatite Stone Standing Osiris

Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, circa 664–30 BCE.
Carved from dark, dense steatite with natural greenish-grey veining, the deity is depicted mummiform standing upright against an integral flat back pillar. He wears the tall Atef crown flanked by ostrich feathers and fronted by the sacred uraeus cobra, alongside a plaited divine beard that extends downward to join the upper chest. His arms are folded symmetrically across his chest, with his hands emerging from the shrouds to grasp the crook (heqa) and flail (nekhakha), the quintessential regalia of kingship, regeneration, and supreme dominion over the underworld.
The facial features are classically serene, with almond-shaped eyes, a straight brow line, and a subtle archaic smile typical of Saite and Ptolemaic retrospective artistic revivals. The profile view shows the clean separation of the columnar body from the supportive back slab, terminating at a fractured lower plinth where the original feet were detached in antiquity.

The statuette measures 6 inches in height, 1.5 inches in length (depth), and 1 inch in width (15.2 cm x 3.8 cm x 2.5 cm), mounted to an overall presentation height on a tiered black base.
