Late Intermediate Period, Ca. 1000 to 1400 AD

Large, woven and embroidered textile woman having a broad flat face with facial tattooing represented by differential coloration in energy patterns and zoned blocks. The nose is long and slender and embroidered in high relief. The mouth is open and toothy and the eyes are close set and staring. She stands with arms emerging from the top of her garment, a trait restricted to female clothing and her arms reach before her and clasp hands. She wears the feminine dress of a full length tunic with horizontal striping woven specifically to fit this figure and no other. All of her clothing was made expressly to size for this doll, including her hair and gauze hair net. Her body is vegetal matter and reeds. Excellent condition and unrestored. Size: 12-7/8”H. + Lucite mount.
