Stunning and rare polychrome decorated pottery pedestal rattle bowl with a projecting deity head in front, and opposing large perforated flanges to either side. Exterior decorated with a fine polychrome decorated geometric decoration. Scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Size: 4-1/8 inches H. x 8-3/8 inches W. Compare with a similar example in the Museo Nacional de Antropolgia INAH Mexico City 10-78081 which was lent to the Aztec Guggenheim show 2005. Provenance: Collection of James Baxter, CA.
