A red-brown pottery standing dog with a rear tail spout, perked ears, incised mouth and circular shaped eyes. Large belly may denote she is pregnant to harness the powers of fertility,  Overall strong mineral deposits and root marks.

Size  12-3/4 inches Length x 9-3/4 inches H.
This lively dog is a representation of the hairless dogs used in ancient Colima as pets, providers of warmth, and sources of sustenance. Dogs played an important role in the transportation of souls to the afterlife.
