An elaborate chambered incense vessel; the front molded in high relief with Kinich Ahau, the sun god's visage. Open work with extended hook nose, ear flanges and headdress. Buff terracotta with remains of chalky-tan encrustation.

Dimensions: 9 inches H x 7 inches W without base.

Repaired in back, excellent mineral staining; impressive in person.

Provenance: Estate of a Lexington avenue doctor collection, Acq. 1980s.
