Phase IV, Ca. 450 to 550 A.D.  

 Mold-made stirrup vessel in the form of a seated figure with hands resting on the lap, the feet projecting at the front of the rectangular base. The figure has characteristic Andean facial features and wears a painted striped tunic, neck ornament and bag-like headdress with long lappets, seated upon a rolled mat or bedroll.

The surface is decorated in cream and red-brown slips with much of the original pigment remaining, showing light overall wear and minor surface abrasions; small chip to the lip of the spout, otherwise intact.

Size: 8 1/2 in (21.6 cm) Height; length 10 in (25.4 cm).
Provenance: Ex collection A.C., Bethesda, Maryland.
