XRF elemental analysis shown in the image reveals a composition of 67.6% gold (Au), 16.5% silver (Ag), and 15.9% copper (Cu), which strongly indicates this is indeed a pre-Columbian metalwork piece, specifically a tumbaga alloy. The composition aligns perfectly with known pre-Columbian metallurgical practices.  The object appears to be a 16.2K gold alloy, which matches the tumbaga manufacturing techniques used in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. This type of alloy was specifically chosen for its lower melting point and superior casting qualities compared to pure gold.  The combination of gold, silver, and copper in these proportions was a hallmark of pre-Columbian metallurgy. The presence of silver in this piece (16.5%) is particularly noteworthy, as it was often naturally present in pre-Columbian gold alloys at levels between 5-10%.

Condition Very good, patina and wear commensurate with age and use.
