Late Intermediate Period, Central Coast, Circa 1000 to 1450 AD.
A well preserved Chancay basket of plaited totora reeds over split cane. Contains all that is seen in photo; natural yarn; multiple loom sticks, knitting needles and and instruments; some decorated others plain. Small whorls and a woven cloth pieces.
Size: 7 inches (18cm) Width x 16 inches (41cm) length x 4-7/8 inches (10cm) height. Intact with some minor frey to edges.
Provenance: Ex German collection, 1970s; ex Gallery Peruana, acquired 1990.
