A "Master of the Animals", Luristan type and shows central figure with Janus head flanked by animals. Each face features prominent nose, button eyes and slit mouth. Bars project from both sides of the head and are attached to the snouts. The figure merges below the waist with the haunches and legs of the animals.

Size: 5- inches (13.cm) H. + custom mount.  Intact condition

Provenance: Estate of Dina Recanati, 944 5th Ave, New York. Dina Recanati  1928-2021. Born in 1928 as Diane Hettena, in Cairo, Egypt. She graduated from French and English schools in 1945. In 1946 she married Raphael Recanati, in Tel Aviv, Israel.  Went to London to study History and Art in 1946-1948. The moved to New York in 1948 and raised two sons, Oudi and Michael. She attended Art Student League 1959-1962 and went on to exhibit worldwide with permanent works in the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum, Ben Gurion Airport, and The Jewish Museum (New York) among others. She is the recipient of the AICF AVIV Award and The Council for a Beautiful Israel Yakir Award.
