Eastern Mediterranean, Circa 2nd to 3rd Century AD. Fine example of a large blown perfume bottle (unguentarium) with bulbous  body on a flat base (concave underneath) and tall narrow neck; frequently described as candlestick shaped. This particular example has unusual thickness throughout making for a very stout piece of ancient glass. 15.2 cm, choice condition with moderate iridescence.
