Eastern Mediterranean Circa 3rd to 4th Century A.D.

Fine triangular in form with the head of a boar in high relief, with incised tufts of hair between the inverted heart-shaped ears, an incised whorl between the recessed eyes, the tusks also recessed, the flanged edges perforated for attachment. Would make a nice Jewelry piece.

Size 1-5/8 in. (4.1 cm) length + custom mount.
Provenance  Crescent Gallery, Tokyo.  Private collection NY, acquired at Christie's NY Dec 6 2000, lot 155.
