Early Ptolemaic Period, ca. 305–200 B.C. 

Life-size or near life-size stucco sculptor’s model with idealized royal features, the full modeled face preserving contoured almond eyes, relief eyebrows, broad fleshy nose, softly smiling lips rounded at the corners, full cheeks, smooth forehead, and surviving delineation of the wig or royal head covering. Such heads belong to the Ptolemaic workshop tradition of sculptors’ models and votive studies, used to transmit official Egyptian royal types during a period when Macedonian rulers adopted pharaonic visual language.

Height: 9 in. (23 cm); width: 5.5 in. (14 cm), plus custom mount.
