Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664–30 B.C.

Strung from ancient glazed faience beads and centered by a striking bicolor wedjat (Eye of Horus) amulet. Glazed in vibrant turquoise-blue, the focal plaque features crisp, raised black-brown pigment delineating the cosmetic eye bands, pupil, and falcon cheek markings that signify divine protection, health, and wholeness. Flanking the pendant is an alternating strand of ancient tubular and small ring "mummy beads" exhibiting a rich spectrum of turquoise, celadon, ochre, brick-red, and earthen-brown glazes.

Originally created for protective beaded funerary netting to accompany the deceased into the afterlife, these ancient elements have been reassembled on modern wire with a secure clasp, uniting ancient talismanic power with contemporary wearability

Size 17.75 inches in length, wearable. Provenance: ex Secret Eye Gallery, New York City, 1970s-1980s.
