Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664–30 B.C., modeled as a naked, bow-legged dwarf standing in the canonical pose atop an integral plinth with hands resting on his hips. Associated with Ptah and prized as a powerful apotropaic talisman to protect against malevolent spirits and dangerous creatures, the figure features an enlarged, smooth dome-like cranium, stylized facial features, and a transverse suspension hole pierced through the upper neck. Measuring 1-1/2 inches high, the amulet retains vibrant turquoise glaze within the deeper crevices, softened across high-relief surfaces by centuries of subterranean preservation and warm earthen mineralization. Intact and mounted with museum wax to a dark hardwood base, this piece is provenanced to the Secret Eye Gallery, New York City (1970s–1980s).

Every object is guaranteed authentic and as described, and has been legally acquired and imported in accordance with U.S. and applicable foreign regulations on the movement and sale of antiquities. A signed certificate of authenticity with a description and photograph accompanies this object. Any restoration is described on the invoice.
