Late Period, 26th–30th Dynasty, ca. 664–332 B.C.
Molded in pale sea-green glazed faience and stands atop an integral plinth supported by a prominent dorsal back pillar. Displaying a handsome face, he is wearing a smooth tripartite wig and long braided divine beard, the figure is depicted with crossed arms emerging from burial shrouds to clutch the canonical agricultural pick and hoe across the chest for labor in the afterlife.

Surface displays characteristic subterranean burial weathering, featuring a softly pitted glaze matrix accented by warm earthen mineralization and light ochre toning throughout.

Size 4 in H. + custom mount, Provenance: ex Secret Eye Gallery, New York City, 1970s-1980s.
